During the academic year 2009-2010 the school became the best in district level and was awarded Rs. 10,000 by State Water Authority and Malayalamanorama for the programme “Palathully Peruvellam” received by the head master C.S Gopakumar and co-ordinator Smt A.I Devika. The school grabbed the first position in Palakkad District Seed competition conducted by Mathrubhumi Daily. Akshay recived the best student award and Sri K. Premkumar was the best co- oridanator. The Kerala forest Department and Central Envivornment Department conducted “Ente Maram” programe in which the school received “Vanamithra Award”.
The students had to rely upon distant schools for higher education .The tedious effort of the high – minded people and management had good result. In 2010 respected Deputy Speaker of Legislatire assembly Sri Jose Baby inaugurated the higher secondary section in the presence of Dist. Panchyath president, T.N Kandamuthan, Sri. Sakeer Hussain ( Manager ) and C.S Gopakumar ( First Principal ). The HSS section started with two batches – Humanities and commerce. Computer science batch started in 2011. Almost 360 students got the oppurtunity of higher education without hazzles with the priceless support of Sri Sakeer Hussain and fatherly guidance of C.S Gopakumar along with 16 well trained teachers and a lab- assistant, a new education era started and the journey continues victoriously.
Souhrida Club and Career Guidance and Counselling started under the instruction of Higher Secondary Department to enable the students to reduce their mental stress, to face all problems courageously and to devolep self confidence. Smt. Sunitha K (HSST-Commerce) co-ordinates counselling. Many seminars were conducted to help the students to enrich their career. A film festival also was organised in the school campus under the leadership of A Chandrasekhar and G.Bindhu.
Sri. Pradheesh P.G (HSST-Politics) and Smt. Smitha Sasidharan (HSST-Economics) lead the “Nallapadam” activities effectively. Karate training was given to girls to face the problems in the present social atmosphere. Financial help was given to Sri Muralidharan of Verkoli who was under treatment for kidney failure.
Modernised and well equipped labs are the salient feature of our school. Smt. Nice Nimmy Augustine ( HITC of the School)- Computer Application, Lathika P.K-Computer Science, Pravitha N.R-Physics, Maheswari M-Chemistry, Sri. Rolence Xavier-Lab Assistant effectively handles the Lab activities. A collection of more than 1000 books are there to encourage reading habit of the students . Sub-district Kalotsavam of 2012 staged in our schools. Students of our school actively participates in the Sub-district and district Kalotsavsam . They won many prizes in the Athletics, Kabadi and Cricket in District and Sub-district level. Sri Vignesh Kumar guides the students. Jijitha M, (Xll- Com) grabbed Gold Medal in Judo.
Anilkumar P.K (Xll- com) was honoured by Governor for participating in Rajpath Parade with Gold Medal and with Rajpath Badge. He was selected for the republic day camp and burned as the best leader and received the trophy from Governor.
Smt. Sheeja V. (HSST Hindi) co- ordinates various Quiz programs of the students and help them to attain prizes in Sub-district and District level. Sri. Usman A.H ( HSST Economics) directs different activities organised by Mathrubhumi Daily under the programme “SEED”. The co- ordinator of ASAP is Sri. P.K Anil Kumar (HSST-Maths). Smt. Pravitha NR (HSST Physics) is the programme officer of NSS (SFU/17) in the school .
