NSS Program “Karuthum Karangal” Brings Joy to Senior Citizens

The NSS unit SFU/17 of Sreekrishna Higher Secondary School conducted a heartwarming program titled “Karuthum Karangal” as part of its outreach initiatives. The program, aimed at fostering interactions with senior citizens, was held at “Santhwanam,” a health care center and home for the destitute, located in Vellachikulam near Velanthavalam.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from the NSS volunteers, who spent quality time with the residents of Santhwanam. The students interacted with the senior citizens, listened to their stories, and shared moments of joy by singing songs together. The initiative brought smiles and warmth to the residents, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

The program was guided by NSS Program Officer Sri Anilkumar and advisory committee member Sri Usman AH, whose leadership ensured the success of the event. As part of the program, Sri Anilkumar handed over financial aid to the institution, contributing to its ongoing efforts in serving the elderly and the destitute.

The students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to connect with the senior citizens and learned valuable lessons about empathy and service to society. The “Karuthum Karangal” program exemplifies the spirit of NSS and its commitment to community service.
